Pres. Andy: The Durham Community Church is spearheading a literacy project called Oyster River Community Reads. So far, it is partnered with the Durham, Lee and Madbury libraries to launch in January and continue through April. The chairman of the club's Literacy Committee, Steve, and John and I will attend a meeting later this week to learn more about how we can become involved ... Durham is having its annual tree-lighting ceremony on Dec 2nd from 6 to 8 PM. Ric, Tom T and I will man our table. Should be good for visibility and we may sell some bird seed wreaths ... On Dec 10th, we will be selling bird seed wreaths outside of Market Basket in Lee from 9 AM to 3 PM. We'll circulate a signup sheet for two-hours blocks of time at next week's meeting ... We think the Big Bean in Newmarket will sell the wreaths for us as well and our Newmarket HS Interact liaison will contact that club to see if they would like to sell wreaths again this year ... Will is not here so we'll put off further discussion of July 4th Celebration.
Bill: Christmas turkey delivery to Cornucopia, Lee Community Church and Newmarket Food Pantry will take place on two dates in mid-December (we'll need help at Cornucopia). So far, we've collected $1,160. Please remember to bring a check to one of the next two meetings; from the Charitable Account, we'll match the amount collected from members up to the total needed ... Wreaths Across America is a project to lay wreaths at the graves of our fallen in each of the nation's federal cemeteries. In our case, that will be Boscawen on Dec 16th at 10 AM. We'll work out carpool arrangements at our next meeting.
Tom B: There's a handicapped ramp needed. One of our VFW folks mentioned that their chapter had a portable ramp that could probably do the job. Tom B will take a look and see if one still needs to be built.
John: Noted that there are on-line courses now available from RI for many of our leadership positions. Those affected should check them out.
