Pres. Andy: Presented our $500 donation to Oyster River Chapter of End 68 Hours of Hunger ... the Director of Education at the Durham Community Church is interested in launching a literacy project with our help.  Steve's committee includes Brian F, John and myself ... Tom T picked up the balance of the wreathes.  We have made arrangements to sell them at Market Basket for one weekend.  We will also have a table at the Durham Tree Lighting event on Dec 2nd from 6 to 8 PM ... The child needing glasses in the Newmarket homeless family - we'll contact the Lions Club which focuses on eyesight issues to address the need.
John: On Belay is an adventure-based organization for children whose parents have been diagnosed with cancer.  We've been asked if we will continue to support their Ginger Bread house-building fundraiser which will be held on Dec 9th at Oyster River HS.  We've also always entered a team in the contest.  The club approved a donation of $250.
Bill: The Endowment Fund currently stands at $64,500 earning 7%.
Frank: $750 is in the budget for the club contribution to The Rotary Foundation's Polio Plus Fund.  Andy's goal this year is $1,200 as it was last year.  Since Happy Bucks are not needed for the Shoe and Boot Fund and have been going into the unrestricted Charitable account, propose that that money make up the difference for Polio Plus this year.  Club approved.
Ann: Let's not forget about the continuing need for new members.  Ric added that a good number of past members, who may have left the club due to business pressures, are still in the area and should be considered.  He has the list with him; the new ClubRunner software may allow those names to be posted.
Will: He has been working with the town of Durham, and UNH to better define roles and explore possible features of a new July 4th Celebration hosted by our club.  Children's activities, premium seating at the stadium, relationship with the food vendor, controlled parking, BBQ chicken, sponsor packages (premium seating, Jumbotron advertising, etc) and advertising by UNH, and contributions by Madbury and Lee were reviewed.  The cost will be $20 - 25K.  Pres. Andy: we will continue to move forward with planning.
