Rotary Delivers Holiday

For more than fifteen years, the Rotary Club of Durham-Great Bay has each December provided turkeys to local food pantries for their holiday food baskets. This year marked a slight departure as 165 turkeys were provided as well as 42 hams. To date, over $50,000 in turkeys have been given. It is a fun-filled project the membership looks forward to each year. From loading the boxes of turkeys onto trailers and trucks, (often the caravan is escorted by the Durham police or the fire departments), to seeing the happy faces of food pantry volunteers as the many boxes are unloaded. Although a small project, it sets the tone for the Holidays.
