Pres. Andy: We need to withdraw some money from the Bill Wilson Endowment Fund to cover obligations. First off, we will need to support Marina's Miles coming up on Apr 14th. Andy had budgeted $1,000, but as the lead sponsor, last year's support level of $2,000 is more appropriate. Transfers like this require 3/4s of the club members (21) to support. He will ask for an email vote within the next couple of days. (Ed. note: vote was taken and at least 22 members have voted to transfer $4,500 from the Endowment Fund to the Charitable Account and restore it when able, and to support Marina's Miles at the $2,000 level.) ... We have spoken with Dover Club's Pres-elect Biehl regarding our openness to her invitation to participate in their arrangement with Seacoast Bingo, and we are waiting for their board's response expected this month.
John: At present, there is approximately $67,000 in the Endowment and it is earning about $1,000 annually.
Pres-elect Tom B and Pres-nominee Russ: Believe that the original goal of building the Endowment Fund to $100,000 should remain our goal.
Will: Briefed us on the movement in arrangements for the 4th. UNH is overdue in producing its detailed agreement. Sponsors will expect to see our Media Plan when we approach them for support.
Russ: The committee should consider a 50-50 raffle, especially in view of the fact that general admission to the fireworks will be free for the public.
Tom B: Returned from the Presidents-elect Training Seminar (PETS) this past weekend. Wanted to remind those of our members who have not attended the well-regarded Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) courses, that the next one is coming up on Mar 24th in Wells. And we have the District Assembly on Apr 7th at York Community College. Also, those who can manage to attend only 1 day of the District Conference (May 3rd - May 8th at the Mt Washington Hotel), can do so now for only $30 ... We must be doing something right, because we seem to be well thought of at District.
