Rotary Club is always collecting Crutches 4 Africa. We collect in multiple locations over the GreatBay/Seacoast NH area with Portsmouth Club.
David Talbot founded the Crutches4Africa Project in 2005. Clubs in the US have been collecting Crutches, Canes, Walkers, and Wheelchairs (MADs = Mobility Assistance Devices) and shipping them in sea containers to clinics, social service agencies, and hospitals in Africa. Thousands have been collected and saved from the dump/landfill. They are cleaned, packaged and shipped. This really helps get people up and moving again in areas where this kind of equipment is hard to find.
